Okay, so it is after midnight... officially my 37th birthday! Perfect time to start a new blog right? 37 sounds sooooo old! I am so not old! Ask me, I'll tell you. Don't ask my kids though...
My purpose for this blog is to keep everyone up to date on what is happening with the Shadd Family.... and probably to share bits & pieces of fun things... especially photos! I should have probably called this 'Marci's Musings' because the odds are good that I'll drone on about miscellaneous thoughts... and begin new topics as my mind wanders. Hey - it keeps things interesting and you have to stay on your toes or you'll get lost with me.
So I thought that I'd start with a few blasts from the past photos just for fun...
This is the baby me... I think that the dog's name was Mike (who knew that I'd marry a Mike?), and we are are on Grandma Arlene & Grandpa Bob's front porch here on Higgins Avenue.
This is my brother Danny with me... we were dressed as hobos or something for a church function. My mom says that she remembers putting wires in my braids, but I remember Dan having an accident in his pants.
This is my youngest brother Jeremy with me supervising his feeding of the puppy. Chief was the dalmation, he could jump 4 feet straight up into the air when he was excited.
These two tubing love birds are my parents... my mother is just going to love the fact that I put a picture of her in a bikini on my blog... ha ha ha

Marci -
I haven't done much blogging, nor spent much time evaluating them, but I can truly say that yours is off to one of the best starts that I've ever seen.
Happy birthday - and I'll confirm your belief that you're not old - not yet - as I will soon be your age + 8. Sometime between now & 8 years from now - you will be old.
On your birthday yesterday - "fiddy" years ago my parents were married. I can only imagine the lack of attention and recognition over the years that you have received on your birthday with it always being overshadowed by the celebration of my parents marriage. Hence the apparent need for you to create this blog on your birthday - as compensation for all the years of self pity.
Congrats on your blog. Something / similar to what I've threatened myself with creating and alas, perhaps now I am too old and I need to leave this stuff to you kids... :)
By the by - your musical selection is titled for the body of water near us; sure it ain't an ocean, but it is "great".
Brickman is from "Cleveland" and I think still based around here.
Marci,
I agree with James - I have considered blogging but never found the time to start. Yours is fantastic! To think, I almost didn't check it out!
Keep it up Girl!
Sorry I didn't know about your birthday. Cheers to you, you young hot thing!
Have a great vacation!
Shannon

Hey Marci!
I thought I'd visit again while I am a "free" guest. Wanted to see if you are blogging your trip. You crack me up, I'm laughing out loud in my empty room! I'd have fun on your trip with you! Let's ditch the kids - but Mike can come!
See you at home! Have fun!
Shannon
